critical artist as obituarial character

The March 20 ’s g.com posting—same name as this one—got updated, but only briefly—albeit obscurely enough (keeping true
to myself, you know).

Actually, I wasn’t influenced by Hartman. But I was very influenced by deconstruction (as was Hartman), and Hartman was a regular voice of literary philosophy during the years I became engaged with it all.

I perk up when deconstruction turns up in the news. But anymore, it’s a tired mode of narrative—not that it was ever much appreciated. “What is deconstruction?” was never definitively answered, though plenty of scholars got tenure expressing their own version of it.

I feel nostalgia for those days (late 1970s through the 1980s).
I’m not really there anymore. So, maybe the posting of note should remain just that.
